In a bid to enhance the development of mathematics disciplines at Anhui University of Technology (AHUT) and explore reforms in the cultivation model for top-notch mathematics talents, a delegation led by Kong Hui, Director of the Academic Affairs Office of AHUT, and Wang Chunsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Microelectronics and Data Science, recently conducted a specialized exchange visit to the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The meeting was attended by Zuo Dafeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of USTC’s School of Mathematical Sciences; Huang Wen, Dean of the School; and Chen Xiaowu, Associate Dean, among others.

As a leading force in China’s mathematical sciences, the USTC School of Mathematical Sciences boasts a profound academic heritage, a well-established talent cultivation system, and remarkable achievements in fostering innovative talents and conducting cutting-edge research. The visit focused on improving faculty development and top-tier talent training at AHUT through in-depth learning and exchanges. The two sides discussed ways to leverage USTC’s high-quality faculty and research platforms to provide mathematics students at Anhui University of Technology with broader academic perspectives and hands-on opportunities. They candidly identified potential practical challenges, preliminarily set short-term goals, and clarified specific implementation procedures. Furthermore, the AHUT delegation presented the university’s talent recruitment policies to current doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows at USTC.
