On the morning of May 7, Lu Lin, Party Secretary of the university, paid a visit to the School of Microelectronics and Data Science to conduct an in-depth inspection, focusing on the school’s teaching, research, and faculty-student development. The school’s leadership team accompanied the visit.

Secretary Lu toured several of the school's laboratories and engaged in friendly conversations with faculty and students, gathering detailed insights into the school’s Party building efforts, academic progress, and laboratory safety measures. He commended the school’s contributions to foundational mathematics and science education, noting its essential role in supporting the university’s ambition to become a nationally recognized high-level institution with unique strengths. Emphasizing the importance of laboratories in disciplinary development and talent training, Lu urged the school to enhance laboratory infrastructure and strengthen safety protocols, while also improving equipment efficiency to better support academic research.

Lu noted that the school plays a pivotal role in delivering foundational courses across the university, which significantly boosts students’ academic foundations. He encouraged the school to take the upcoming undergraduate education assessment as an opportunity to further enhance its teaching standards and contribute to cultivating high-caliber talent for the new era. Regarding the school’s next phase of development, Lu outlined five key directives: 1)Earnestly implement the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation. The Party committee and branches should lead by example, conduct thorough self-inspection, and ensure no oversight in rectification efforts. 2)Raise political awareness and strengthen ideological leadership, aligning with the fundamental mission of moral education and the university’s high-quality development goals. The school should highlight its unique strengths and promote industry-education integration and interdisciplinary collaboration. 3)Take responsibility for thorough implementation of inspection rectifications and establish long-term mechanisms to ensure sustainable improvements. 4)Focus on the undergraduate education assessment, align with evaluation criteria, and leverage the assessment to drive reform, strengthen management, and enhance overall academic quality. 5)Reinforce safety management by conducting regular inspections of laboratories, classrooms, and dormitories; refine emergency plans; and raise safety awareness among faculty and students to ensure a secure campus environment.

This visit served both as recognition of the school’s current achievements and as a clear directive for its future path. The school pledged to fully implement Secretary Lu’s guidance, strengthen disciplinary foundations, deepen industry-education cooperation, and work collectively to propel the school’s development to new heights.(Written by: Guo Wenyun.
